| Have you been
wanting to learn how to knit, but haven't found the time, motivation, or
the right class? Look no further, for many of our classes have been redesigned
and condensed into one day sessions. Check out our newly "re-modeled" Beginner's
Knitting classes - these four hour workshops will teach you the skills to
begin your first knitting project.
We now offer classes teaching two different ways to knit socks: one at a
time from the cuff down, and two at a time from the toe up - both on one
40" circular needle. So check out our classes listed below, and come join
us for some knitting fun!
January, February, March, April 2008
Class Schedule
Now that the holidays are over, and the cold
days of winter are about to set in, what better time to learn how to knit,
broaden your skills, learn something new, or even learn to spin. Mad About
Ewes is offering a full schedule of fiber arts classes over the next several
months, so look over the list below and come have some fiber fun!
Registration Policy
Because
we plan our classes in advance here at Mad About Ewes, and must have enough
supplies in stock for you, we ask that you register for classes early. Payment
for the class is required at time of registration. You can register over
the phone with a credit card, or stop by the shop and pay. You will receive
a full refund if we cancel the class due to low enrollment OR if you cancel
no less than seven days prior to the class. Otherwise, class fees are
non-refundable. If a class is cancelled due to inclement weather, it will
be rescheduled. You will receive confirmation by phone or e-mail one week
prior to the class. Please remember to attend a class if you have signed
up for it - we work very hard to prepare!
Beginning Spinning
There's no greater satisfaction than learning
to spin your own yarn for that special project. The introductory spinning
class consists of about 8 hours of instruction, covering the different types
of wool, its characteristics, and uses. Instruction is given on how to wash
and process a raw fleece, and prepare worsted and woolen yarns using various
types of carding techniques.
Students receive instruction on drop spinning
and spinning on a wheel, including how to create a two-ply yarn. Each student
takes home the yarn spun in class, a drop spindle, and about 4 ounces of
fiber to keep practicing at home.
Cost is $75. Call or stop by for scheduling
details.
